Guide Format

This build guide is split over multiple pages, both to prevent it from getting too long, as well as to help you better find the information you are looking for. In addition to the current page, which presents general information about the build and also contains a Leveling and FAQ section, we have the following pages:

Introduction

Wanders offer a fun, fast-paced, and powerful playstyle, with quite a few powerful options, including Abyss Jewel stacking, low-life, and CI variants, making use of any of the skills available for wands. This build focuses on a very specific setup, making use of a high intelligence value alongside a wand with a shaper “Adds 1 to 6 lightning damage to attacks with this weapon per 10 intelligence” to stack tons of lightning damage, and delivering it via Vaal Power Siphon Vaal Power Siphon and Barrage Barrage.

Build Summary

This build offers high damage, excellent clearspeed, and the absolute joy of using one of the coolest looking skills in the game, Vaal Power Siphon Vaal Power Siphon. It makes a great all-rounder, and offers near-infinite scaling with improving gear.

Pros

+ High damage
+ Fast movement and clearspeed
+ Raider offers extremely smooth play
+ Fairly budget friendly, but scales up extremely well with high-end gear

Cons

- Fairly low physical damage mitigation
- Stuns can be hard to avoid without Skyforth Skyforth

Playstyle and core mechanics

Offensively, the build moves quickly from pack to pack, firing off Vaal Power Siphon Vaal Power Siphon to deal with denser packs, and the non-vaal version when monsters are less dense. On single targets, Barrage Barrage makes quick work of just about any single targets in the game, and Raider grants you extra speed and damage. Incandescent Heart Incandescent Heart boosts up your damage, providing 15-20% of your lightning damage as extra chaos.

Defensively, the build has a high potential energy shield pool, Incandescent Heart Incandescent Heart provides 25% elemental damage mitigation, phasing and a high move speed allow most damage to be avoided, and a self-cast or triggered guard skill can provide a good amount more survivability.

Levelling

As a reminder, we have several guides to help you level up a character.

Wanders are historically somewhat awkward to level with, but it can be done in a variety of ways. The best option, if you would like to level as a wander, is to use bow skills of your choice until level 12, when you can switch to using Power Siphon Power Siphon, and use that for the rest of your levelling process. Level 12 is also when you gain access to Storm Prison Storm Prison, which is a reasonable option to dual wield, carrying you as far as you want.

At level 12, equip power siphon, along with Pierce Support Pierce Support, Added Lightning Damage Support Added Lightning Damage Support, and Added Cold Damage Support Added Cold Damage Support. At level 18, replace Pierce with Faster Attacks Support Faster Attacks Support, and replace Added Cold with Elemental Damage with Attacks Support Elemental Damage with Attacks Support.

If you want a dedicated single target skill to acompany this, at level 38 you should swap Faster Attacks for Chain Support Chain Support, and begin using Barrage Barrage, supported with Added Lightning Damage Support Added Lightning Damage Support, Elemental Damage with Attacks Support Elemental Damage with Attacks Support, and Elemental Focus Support Elemental Focus Support. This setup should be more than enough to carry you to endgame, without much trouble.

Your levelling tree will look quite different from the endgame setup, and you will use most of your quest-earned respec points changing to a Chaos Innoculation setup in endgame. This is what your tree should look like early on With a few more levels under your belt, your tree should look roughly like this and from this point, simply start picking up damage nodes closer to the witch start.

FAQ

What map mods does this build need to avoid?

This build mainly needs to avoid elemental reflect, as it will instantly kill itself in a single attack.

What anointments should I use?

The default recommended anointment at endgame is Prism Weave, which provides attack speed, resist penetration, and raw damage. Any defensive nodes can also be useful, particularly Faith and Steel and Soul of Steel.

Can I play this build as Deadeye?

Absolutely! In fact, the build will likely be faster for clearspeed. Raider was chosen for more comfortable gameplay and better single target. As a Deadeye, you will want to use Blood Rage Blood Rage to sustain frenzy charges, and you generally will not be able to sustain them against single targets. For ascendancy nodes, it is recommended that you take Far Shot, Ricochet, Endless Munitions, and Gathering Winds.

Barrage Support is a pretty interesting one, I’ll be testing it out, and I’ll have an update for the guide in the next few days. It may be a good bit more expensive, because we don’t know how difficult it will be to get the Shaper and Elder items we need for the build, but it should still perform great.
